Scholarship Cohort I (2022)

In April 2022, the Dele Akinsade Foundation launched its first scholarship cohort, marking a significant commitment to inclusive and improved STEM education in Ondo Kingdom. Thirty students from ten public secondary schools were selected through a careful process that prioritized academic merit, leadership potential, and a passion for STEM subjects, with special focus on supporting young girls in science and technology fields.

Each scholar received comprehensive support, covering tuition, books, uniforms, and exam fees, ensuring that financial barriers would not hinder their education. Beyond financial aid, the foundation introduced mentorship programs and enrichment activities to help students develop critical thinking, digital skills, and confidence. Scholars were also encouraged to participate in science fairs and community projects, broadening their horizons and fostering a sense of responsibility.

The impact of Cohort I has been evident in improved academic performance and increased motivation among the students. The foundation’s holistic approach not only supports individual scholars but also contributes to building a stronger, more diverse pipeline of future STEM leaders in Ondo State. By investing in these students, the Dele Akinsade Foundation is setting a foundation for long-term educational empowerment and community development.
